In December 2015, the Aternos service, which allows you to create and run free Minecraft servers, suffered a data leak that affected 1.4 million subscribers. The data included usernames, email addresses, IP addresses and also hashed and salted passwords. The non-standard formula MD5(SHA1(SALT)MD5(PLAIN)) was used.
