In September 2016, pay-per-click website ClixSense suffered a data breach that exposed the data of 2.4 million subscribers. The attackers claimed that this was part of a larger data breach involving 6.6 million records. The leaked data included names, physical addresses, emails, IP addresses, gender, balances, dates of birth and passwords. Account balances and passwords are stored in plain text.
